Being a graduate of The University of North Texas (go Mean Green!), I have a sweet spot for Denton, TX. Now, my younger brother is attending UNT and (since I have graduated) quite a few cool spots have started to pop up! The hipster town is perfect for a little “day date”. So, my boyfriend and I decided to take a little road trip!
Our first stop was Paschall Bar on the Square for cocktails — probably the coolest bar in Denton and it’s definitely the place to go for craft cocktails!
It has the vibe of a prohibition bar and they serve the best Negroni I’ve ever had…
Plus, you get a great view of the square!
Now, we went around 3pm and had no trouble finding a seat. But, at night you can expect a line to even get in!
For dinner, we went to a restaurant that I have been wanting to try for FOREVER called Barley & Board. And it was definitely worth the drive alone.
The wine list leaves something to be desired. However, they are known for their fantastic beer selections!
And the food is absolutely amazing. I had the Roasted Half Chicken – so moist it practically melted in my mouth! And, my boyfriend (Kyle), had a flatbread with Andouille sausage. Yummm
Needless to say, we had a great time in Little D and can’t wait to go back!!
